STRATFORD, CT


Stratford is a town in Lower Fairfield County, Connecticut, with a population of around 51,500 residents. Stratford is situated on Long Island Sound and bounded to the east by the Housatonic River.
The Town’s location on Long Island Sound affords residents and visitors alike with two public bathing beaches, five marinas, several fishing piers, and two public boat-launching facilities.

Major highways such as I-95, Route 8/25, and the Merritt Parkway bisect Stratford provide convenient access to the entire Northeast corridor. New York City is within one hour’s driving distance away. The Sikorsky Memorial Airport, located in Stratford’s Lordship section,  provides commuter service to other northeast cities.  Metro North’s rail service with connections to Amtrak further round out an excellent array of transportation choices. 

Stratford Metro-North station is 59 miles east of Grand Central Terminal. The average travel time into Manhatten is about 90 minutes.

Stratford is home to the headquarters of Sikorski Aircraft. Since 1957 every helicopter of the United States President (Marine One) is manufactured in Stratford.
